When Huckleberry Finn is adopted by Widow Douglass at the beginning of the book, she forces him to eat in a "sivilized" way. He has to eat properly with silverware off dishes! Therefore, to experience Huckleberry Finn's frustration, we will eat all "sivilized" for the sake of it. Twain might make fun of us for this because we are doing because that is how society expects us to do as opposed to how we like to do it or figuring it all out on our own.

Bread
In chapter 8, Huck hides from his family who is searching for him. Huck's family discusses his apparent murder, they shot cannonballs over the water, and float loaves of bread with mercury inside. They hoped to find his corpse by shooting the cannonbal, Huck catches one of the loaves and eats it. Huck was pleased that they were using high quality bread to search for him. He felt guilty that his disapperance upset the Widow Douglas and those who cared for him.

Root Beer
The reason I choice Root Beer is because Huck's dad is always drunk because all he ever does is drink beer and after he is drunk from drinking so much he then beats Huck.
